After 6 years of friendship and support it is a huge pleasure to host the fabulous Liz Welty, founder of Flow Studio Belfast, for two workshops that I just KNOW you’re going to love!

Liz and I have been friends for years after a trip I took to Belfast many moons ago and now, as we grow our businesses in support of one another, share ideas (and bottles of wine!) and generally buoy each other in the world of yoga studios I have the pleasure of bringing her over to teach her sell out workshops…

Ninjas and Rockstars is one of my favourite classes to attend when I’m over in Belfast and I never get bored of this sequence! Liz’s energy and passion for yoga is evident in this practice and I look forward to all of our students experiencing the workshop.

Her more recent addition….Meditation for Melters is just what we need over here! While there are many meanings for ‘MELTER’ here it’s Irish slang for ‘a lot on your mind’ AND for busy minds, beginners, those who are curious, cultivating creativity, recovering, or ever thought – ‘I can’t meditate’, but want to try. THIS is the session for you!

After an evening with Liz you’ll be looking to book your next Easyjet flight outta Liverpool heading straight for Belfast!

Who is Liz Welty?

I have been passionate about yoga, dance and the arts my whole life, and believe in the transformative potential of these mediums for personal and social change. Growing up, I was a member of a pre-professional ballet company, and loved time in the studio for the cultivation of presence & movement. In 2008 I received my ‘Registered yoga Teacher’ (RYT 200 – Yoga Alliance) from an Ashram in Boulder Colorado, yet my passion for movement, breath and music led me to Vinyasa Flow Yoga. With my business partner Eleanor Steane, we've opened 2 vinyasa yoga studios in Belfast’s Queen’s Quarter and the Cathedral Quarter – founded on an ethos of welcome, inclusivity and transformation. Our third opened in 2018 in Holywood.

I have been working in peace & conflict studies, capacity building and education for the past 18 years throughout Ireland, Europe and the United States. I have completed a PhD at Queen’s University in Multicultural Education and I always strive to bring the best of my education, skills and passion forward each time I step on the mat.

As a yoga teacher, I seek to empower students to be strong, flexible and easy in their bodies, peaceful and clear in their minds, and playful in spirit.
